ARCHIGNES

An exciting summer! I took a brief hiatus from ARCHIGNES to work at Trieve AI. I learned a lot from the team about making things with and for people as I built demos (search, recommendation, and RAG), conducted audits of search implementations, talked with customers, and did a lot of dogfooding on the Trieve API, documentation, and search.

• Building out the demos required learning new tools and frameworks, multiple approaches for crawling and scraping, and how to really leverage the browser's developer tools.
• I got to explore building out suggested / related queries and components to compare search results.
• For dogfooding, I got more experience building TamperMonkey scripts and browser extensions, practiced frontend development with Node.js and TypeScript, and learned a bit of Rust.

I'm back to ARCHIGNES now. I'm more focused than ever on finding ways to make search better. So much of my academic research was focused on web search, but the team at Trieve helped me better see how hard it can be to build and use search in all sorts of applications.
